Why start here instead of a sales visit

Most of the North Shore and Northwest suburbs draw from Lake Michigan — but the treatment, hardness, and disinfectant vary block by block.

Your ZIP tells us a lotChicago-sourced suburbs get chloramine; Evanston-sourced suburbs get chlorine — different filter media needed for each.
Home age mattersHouses built before 1986 across Cook County are more likely to have a lead service line — worth knowing before install day.

Licensed-plumber installs

Every system is installed in partnership with an Illinois-licensed plumber — never a subcontractor you've never met.

Lifetime workmanship warranty

We stand behind the install for as long as you own your home — manufacturer equipment warranty on top.

Certified equipment

We install iSpring whole-home systems, independently tested to NSF/ANSI standards — backed by a manufacturer warranty and simple 6–12 month filter swaps.

Local, not a franchise

Founded in Park Ridge, built for the North Shore & Northwest suburbs. We're your neighbors, not a national call center.

What we install

Filtration built for Chicago-area water, not generic hardness

Lake Michigan water is moderately hard, but the disinfectant, mineral load, and pipe risk vary suburb to suburb. Our system recommendations start with your specific ZIP.

Whole-Home Filtration & Softening

Treats hardness (7–11 grains per gallon across most of the region), chlorine or chloramine, and sediment at the point every drop enters your house.

Our flagship system →

Reverse Osmosis Drinking Water

Multi-stage RO at the kitchen sink for water that's noticeably cleaner-tasting than what comes straight off the whole-home line.

Drinking water systems →

Lead & Chloramine-Specific Media

For pre-1986 homes with a possible lead service line, or Chicago-sourced suburbs where chloramine needs catalytic carbon, not standard carbon.

What's actually in Chicago-area tap water

Lake Michigan basics

Hard, but not extreme — 7 to 11 grains per gallon

Nearly every North Shore and Northwest suburb draws from Lake Michigan, either through Chicago's Jardine plant or Evanston's own treatment plant on the lakefront. Regional hardness typically runs 7–11 grains per gallon, enough to cause scale on fixtures and appliances but not the extreme hardness seen in parts of the Southwest.

Chloramine vs. chlorine — it depends on your supplier

Chicago's system uses chloramine as its residual disinfectant, which most refrigerator and pitcher filters aren't rated to remove. Evanston's plant, which supplies Evanston, Skokie, Wilmette, and the Northwest Water Commission towns, uses free chlorine instead. The right carbon media depends on which one reaches your tap.

Pre-1986 homes and lead service lines

Illinois banned lead service lines in 1986, and Chicago has more documented lead lines than any other U.S. city. If your North Shore or Northwest suburb home was built before then, it's worth confirming your service line material — either through your village or during your install visit.

PFAS in Lake Michigan communities

State testing has found trace PFAS ("forever chemicals") in a number of Lake Michigan-supplied communities, generally below current federal limits. RO systems with the right membrane stage are the most consistent home treatment option as regulations tighten.
